Palestine: Heritage Wedding at Bethlehem University. The occupied West Bank.. AWESOME :)

Every year, the Palestinian Youth Movement in Bethlehem University organizes a Palestinian traditional wedding, to celebrate and preserve Palestinian heritage.

The coordinator of the Students Youth movement, Foad Abu Mefreh, said: “This symbolic wedding aims to save our Palestinian identity, which many people are trying to steal. So many groups are involved: student groups and the Students’ movement.,” he continued “I assure everyone that we will maintain the Palestinian heritage, and pass on safely, even if we sacrifice ourselves in the process …. Our heritage is the most valuable thing we own as Palestinians.”

The wedding evoked the spirit of the past with its traditional outfits, Palestinian processions, and rustic atmosphere.

The bride commented: “I adore the Palestinian outfit and the Palestinian weddings. It’s beautiful. I am really happy and impressed about the way the wedding performed.”

One of the participants said “This is a very beautiful wedding which preserves the Palestinian traditions that we are committed to. The ceremonies here maintain the Palestinian atmosphere, and they are also very happy occasions which strengthen the ties between the students.”

Students at Bethlehem University will continue to renew Palestinian traditions by organizing a traditional wedding at this time of year.

Our Palestinian heritage will be on our minds forever.
